Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education has published an official app “AC19” to keep track of Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections but this application has been taken down from Google Play Store.
Some Play Store users believe this app is spying on over 3.5 million Iranian citizens and Intentionally misleading people.
MJ Azari Jahromi said:” “We are all responsible…”

How did Iranian citizens become familiar with this App and why did the government create this app?
The government of Iran sent SMS messages to all the citizens and encouraged them to install this app to prevent people from rushing to hospitals to check whether their symptoms match with the deadly new virus.
The Reason why Google Took “AC19” down
Still, no one knows whether this app was removed because of the sanctions, or it was taken down because of the controversy surrounding the app and also several users accused the Iranian government of using the Coronavirus scare to trick citizens into installing the app and then collect phone numbers and real-time geo-location data also it is possible that this application was removed from the Play Store due to a critical vulnerability. Google still has not commented on why this app was taken down but sources familiar with the Play store policies told ZDNet:
“The App was most likely taken down because of its misleading claims.” and also Lukas Stefanko, an android Malware researcher at ESET, told this site that this app is not a malicious Trojan or Spyware.
